Day By Day Program

Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Your safari starts with a drive in the morning in a place called Arusha to Tarangire National Park, mostly known as the home of the giants because of the large herds of elephants found there. Another notable feature of the park is its ancient baobab trees, which are scattered throughout sweeping savannahs and seasonal swamps. When the Tarangire River passes through the park, the wildlife is the life line during the dry season when animals such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and lions are drawn to the river.

Tarangire will also appeal to bird lovers, and over 500 species of birds have been recorded here, including the colorful yellow-collared lovebirds and the beautiful-looking Kori bustard. You will then retire to a nice lodge or tented camp just outside the park after a full-day game drive, where you will relax and eat dinner with the sounds of the African night.

Day 2: Lake Manyara national park

Following breakfast, you head to Lake Manyara National Park which is a small but rich reserve against the spectacular scenery of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Thousands of flamingos cover the shallow soda lake, and the forests lining it shelter baboons, blue monkeys, and hornbills. Lake Manyara is also the home to tree-climbing lions, which is a very unusual behavior only observed in a small number of places in Africa.

The diverse ecosystems in the park keep you busy during the day as you will find all sorts of animals within a day; you can find hippos in the lake wallowing, or even a herd of elephants moving through acacia woodland, among others. The wildlife and beautiful landscape combine to make Lake Manyara the perfect place to visit in your safari.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

On your last day you will explore Ngorongoro Crater one of the most well known wildlife sites in Africa and a world heritage site. It is surrounded by an incredible amount of wildlife and the crater is the largest continuous volcanic caldera in the world, covering approximately 260 square kilometers.

Once you get down to the bottom of the crater, you will be basking in the animals. The grasslands are home to large prides of lions, spotted hyenas, buffaloes and wildebeests and the marshes are home to hippos and elephants. It is also among the finest sites in Tanzania to view the threatened black rhinoceros. The crater walls have been high and usually masked by a mist, this provides a natural enclosure which traps animals inside, thus ensuring great wildlife sightseeing all year round.

The end of your safari will be rewarding as on finishing your game drives, you will then climb up the crater walls and head to Arusha.
