Serengeti Safari Day 1

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where one of our professional drivers will be waiting to welcome you. Enjoy a comfortable 40-minute transfer to your lodge, set within an exclusive golf, polo, and wildlife estate. Your first evening is a relaxed introduction to the safari experience—meet fellow travelers (unless on a private safari), then unwind with a scenic sundowner followed by a hosted dinner with one of your safari guides. If a polo match is scheduled, the sundowner takes place at the polo club, adding a unique and stylish touch to your arrival in Tanzania.

Serengeti Safari Day 2

After breakfast, enjoy a short ten-minute drive to the airstrip for a late-morning flight to Ndutu Airstrip, located in the heart of the Southern Serengeti. The scenic flight offers a spectacular aerial perspective, with possible views over the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, or Tarangire National Park—an unforgettable way to experience Tanzania’s iconic landscapes from above.

On landing, you’ll be met by your safari vehicle and, after a brief check-in at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate, begin a game drive across rocky kopjes, winding riverbeds, and the famous Serengeti short-grass plains. This region is prime grazing ground for migrating wildebeest during the early months of the year, often filling the plains with thousands of animals following the seasonal rains. It is also the heart of the calving season, when newborn wildebeest arrive in remarkable numbers before beginning their journey north toward the Maasai Mara.

After approximately 2–4 hours of scenic wildlife viewing, arrive at your first camp, set beneath a classic flat-topped acacia tree. Meet the camp team, settle into your tents, and enjoy a relaxed welcome lunch in the shade. After a short rest, you’ll be introduced to the horses and their grooms, with time for an optional evening ride if conditions allow. As the sun sets, return to camp for hot showers, drinks around the campfire, and your first shared dinner in the African bush—an atmospheric start to the adventure ahead.

Serengeti Safari Day 3

Over the next five days, continue your adventure by riding across vast open plains and through grassy valleys framed by dramatic granite kopjes, whistling thorn thickets, and classic East African flat-topped acacia trees. Daily routes and camp locations vary with weather patterns and wildlife movements, allowing your guide to lead rides through ever-changing landscapes and, when possible, journey to one or two new mobile camps to explore fresh areas of the ecosystem.

On one morning or afternoon, the horses rest while you travel by vehicle to Olduvai Gorge Museum, one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites. Here, you’ll learn about early human evolution through ancient fossils, artifacts, and remains of extinct animals that once roamed the region. Throughout the safari, you’ll also cross the legendary Olduvai Gorge, often referred to as the “Cradle of Humankind,” sometimes even on horseback.

Each day typically begins early with tea or coffee served at your tent before setting out on a 3–4 hour ride. Later, meet the support crew for an al fresco bush lunch, followed by time to rest during the heat of the day. In the afternoon, ride onward toward the next camp, often reaching it by teatime. Camps are carefully positioned in spectacular locations—sometimes deep in the open plains—where, during peak migration season, the air is alive with the calls of thousands of wildebeest. On arrival, enjoy a refreshing drink, hot showers, and a hearty dinner, all accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African wilderness.

Serengeti Safari Day 8

At one stage of the safari, weather permitting, you will spend a memorable night at a lightweight fly camp, sleeping comfortably under mosquito nets and fully immersed in the African wilderness. The day begins with a vehicle-based game drive, including a picnic lunch as you traverse the iconic short-grass plains. Keep watch for predators such as cheetahs, lions, and leopards that thrive in this open habitat, along with elephants and flocks of flamingos gathering around the region’s soda lakes.

In the late afternoon, arrive at the fly camp in time for a classic sundowner, followed by a magical dinner beneath the stars—an unforgettable bush experience that perfectly captures the spirit of an authentic Tanzania safari.

Serengeti Safari Day 9

Enjoy an early morning departure as you bid farewell to the horses and safari crew. Travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, with breakfast served en route overlooking the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. After exiting the conservation area, stop at the African Galleria, a perfect place to shop for Tanzanian art, crafts, and tanzanite gemstones.

Continue to Manyara Airstrip for a scenic 40-minute flight back to the estate, followed by a road transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey. If your international flight departs later in the day, a dayroom can be arranged in advance upon request to ensure a comfortable and relaxed departure.
